  • A hot stone massage involves basalt, volcanic rock that is usually high in iron. Which allows the stones to absorb heat better. These stones are placed on specific body points and used as tools to massage muscles. Typically, the stones are heated to a temperature range of 45 to 60 degrees Celsius using a specialized stone heater. The warmth of the stones helps to relax muscles, allowing the massage therapist to apply deeper pressure without causing discomfort.
